FM Receives Head of UNICEF
Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari, received the Executive Director of UNICEF, Mr. Anthony Lake, and the accompanying delegation on Tuesday.
They reviewed the work of the organization and services to care for children of the world and Iraq. Dr. Jaafari said that the world today is witnessing the dire reality in the field of childhood and children’s rights, which requires maximum efforts by UNICEF, the humanitarian organizations and governments, to overcome all obstacles to the advancement of this vital sector.
Mr Lake stressed that his visit to Iraq is to see the reality of childhood and challenges the children facing and the effects of terrorism on the child’s personality, pointing out that the organization is doing what it can to the Iraqi government and humanitarian organizations to provide adequate care for children in Iraq.
