Minister of Oil arrives in Kirkuk province

Shafaq News / A senior source in Kirkuk revealed on Monday, that the Iraqi Minister of Oil , Adel Abdul-Mahdi has arrived this morning in the province. The source told “Shafaq News", that “it is likely that Mahdi will meet during the visit with the governor of Kirkuk , Najim al-Deen Karim to discuss field conditions and security developments in the province after threats that the city has witnessed over the past few days and attacks of ISIS terrorists in several axes that formed a threat to the fields and oil installations in the province. As the source speculated that Abdul Mahdi would inspect oil installations in the province and discuss with officials the workflow , adding that he also will brief on the progress of the implementation of the oil agreement between Erbil and Baghdad, which included the export of oil through the Turkish Kurdish pipeline. The Minister of Oil , Adel Abdul Mahdi confirmed on Monday, during his visit to Kirkuk province, on the need to expand production in the oil fields and the development of their work to suit the challenges of the next phase ISIS terrorists had launched a broad attack from several directions in Kirkuk province during the past few days and were able to control al-Kahabaz field and held its employees as hostages before the Kurdish Peshmerga forces were able to expel them and free the hostages
