United Kalavyrta Unloads in Israel

The tanker which was blocked for months by a Baghdad legal challenge from unloading its 1 million barrels of Kurdish crude oil in Texas, has reportedly delivered its cargo to Israel.
The United Kalavyrta [United Kalavrvta, United Kalvrvta] spent several months off the coast of Texas after Baghdad tried to have a U.S. court seize the oil.
In the time that the vessel has been waiting, the value of its 1 million barrels of Kurdish crude oil has fallen by roughly $50-$60 million.
The Iraqi central government challenged the sales, branding them illegal. The KRG protested that independent sales were allowed under Iraq’s constitution.
AIN reports that several of the tankers that have carried crude oil from Iraqi Kurdistan from Turkey’s Mediterranean port of Ceyhan have unloaded at Israeli ports.
