Popular Peshmerga commander killed, seven wounded in ISIS attack
Daqouq: A security source in Kirkuk province revealed on Saturday, that the Kurdish Peshmerga forces began a broad attack on Islamic State group (IS) sites in al-Atshana and al-Aziziya villages in the southwestern areas of the province, saying that it is progress to liberate them. NRT reported that Peshmerga with Shiite (Popular Mobilization Units) attack IS militants in Bashir village in Daqouq district. The source said that “ the international US-led coalition aircraft provide air support to support Peshmerga forces in military operations in the region, as it is likely to liberate the two villages and surrounding areas during the next few hours due to the decline of terrorists in front of Peshmerga troops with a little resistance. The source did not mention the outcome of the attack and the terrorist’s losses in lives and equipment. Peshmarga forces and Iraqi security forces are conducting military operations on more than one front with air support from the international coalition aircraft to regain control of seized areas by IS militants after the events of Mosul in June of last year.
