Attributed to the economic and investment commission in Parliament, on Wednesday, the reason for decline in performance of the banking work in Iraq to a lack of trust of citizens and companies and local banks, as pointed out that the government's approval to deposit funds of public sector companies in the private banks will contribute to the development of the work of banks. Said committee member Rep. Najiba Najib in a press statement that "the cabinet's approval to deposit funds of public sector companies in their own private banks will contribute to the development of the banking sector, especially since most of the private banks suffer from a shortage of money and prone to bankruptcy." "The reason for decline in the performance of the banking business due to the lack of confidence of citizens and companies to banks what makes them reluctant to deal with those banks", calling on the government and the central bank to "work to urge citizens and investment companies to deal with its own private banks to increase their capital." The Council of Ministers approved in its meeting held last Tuesday to deposit some money from public companies, banks and government in their own private banks in a move to bolster the banking sector.
