Iraqi official: 700 sentenced to death has not been implemented

Erbil, June 19 (PNA) - a spokesman for the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq, Abdul Sattar Bayraktar said that there are about 700 death sentences did not issue a presidential decree to implement them. He added in an interview with "Radio Sawa" the majority of those decisions before the issuance of more than two years.
Bayraktar noted that one of the convicts, Arabs and foreigners, and stressed that the convicts came to the trials "met" the legal requirements and international standards.
The voices calling for the abolition of the government under the pretext of punishment for violations of the defendants subjected to disarm by force confessions.
But the Justice Department defends death sentences carried out between now and then rightly convicted. She says that those provisions are subject to the procedures and audits "to ensure" the integrity and independence of the judiciary.
