UNICEF and UNAMI organize a group to keep Iraq's water

Twilight News / group Friends of UNICEF for young volunteers organized the first effectiveness in support of the organization in Tnaiv program (water and sanitation) aimed to keep the water in Iraq in Baghdad.
According to a joint statement issued by the Organization and the United Nations Mission in Iraq, "UNAMI", the European Union has provided support for the establishment of effective and as part of a project to increase public awareness aims to encourage the efficient use of water and improve hygiene practices in Iraq.
The statement added that a group of young volunteers formed Friends of UNICEF in collaboration with the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) to support the particular, all UNICEF programs that focus on issues relating to children through the mobilization of the local community to encourage positive behaviors and practices.
The statement quoted the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Iraq Giorgi Posten "We welcome the composition of this enthusiastic group of vibrant young Iraqis who will lead the activities to revive the tradition of voluntary work and community who will rise their voices on behalf of future generations while they were working alongside the United Nations to call for the development and sustainability in Iraq ".
For his part, acting head of water and sanitation, UNICEF Office Department in Baghdad, Ali al-Khatib said that "the launch of the campaign to keep the water in Iraq, with the group Friends of UNICEF, is a big step forward to harness young people in Iraq energies, and focus group activities, mainly, on the raise awareness in their communities to change behaviors related to water conservation and hygiene practices in Iraq. However, once the group is active in its work will have a very positive impact on a wide range of child rights issues. "
