EU leaders strengthen cooperation with Iraq to stop illegal immigration

BAGHDAD / Nina / The leaders of EU countries confirmed on Friday at the conclusion of their meeting today in Brussels to promote cooperation with Iraq to stop illegal immigration and to agree on the preparation of a new strategy on foreign and security policy bloc, which includes 28 countries.
The European Council President Donald Tusk told a news conference that the High Representative for Foreign and Security policy chief Federica Mugireny will review the security strategy on the European Council in June 2016
On the subject of immigration, he said that “the EU leaders stressed in the final statement of the two-day summit that true partnership between the European and African countries that to work together to tackle the illegal immigration is necessary.
“The European Union will also strengthen cooperation with Turkey and the countries concerned in the Middle East, including Iraq and Lebanon to deal with illegal immigration.
