Russian Official Stresses Iran's Clout in Resolving Regional Crises

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Russia-Iran Trade Council Rajab Safarov underlined that the regional countries should seek Tehran's help to resolve their problems.
“Iran is the big power of the Middle East and the problems of this region will not be settled without Iran's active participation,” Safarov said on Sunday.
The Russian official pointed to the recent final deal signed between Tehran and the six world powers (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany), and said, "This deal proved that Iran has never had attempted to make atomic bomb, because Tehran considers making this kind of weapon prohibited.”
On Saturday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain underlined that the final agreement between Tehran and the six world powers will be beneficial to the regional and neighboring countries.
"The Iran-Group 5+1 understanding will benefit the neighbors and the region; it will consolidate the economic relations," President Rouhani said.
He noted that the final agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) also showed that no matter how complicated and difficult the problems in the relations among the countries are, they can be resolved through negotiations if there is a good will.
Iran and the six world powers struck a deal in Vienna on July 14.
The hitherto elusive agreement was finally nailed down on Tuesday in the ritzy Palais Coburg Hotel in the Austrian capital of Vienna, where negotiators from Iran and the six other countries had recently been spending over two weeks to work out the remaining technical and political issues.
The agreement, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), will be presented to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which will adopt a resolution in seven to 10 days making the JCPOA an official document.
