Iraqi Kurds Desire PKK and Turkey Ceasefire

With tensions rising once again between the Turkish central government and the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK), Iraqi Kurds are now more concerned about their own relationship with the Turkish leadership.
Despite this concern, Iraqi Kurds do not agree with all the claims made by the Turkish government about the PKK.
Kurdistan’s Foreign Minister, Falah Mustafa Bakir (pictured) said in a statement:
“We hope and urge both sides to go back to the ceasefire, to commit themselves to the peace process, and to the solution that started in Turkey [in 2012], because at the end of the day, it’s stability, security and safety that we need to have on our borders.”
