KDP and PUK meet in Erbil

Shafaq News / The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) announced on Monday, a meeting of its political bureau and its counterpart in Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Erbil city to discuss the developments of the presidency of the region crisis. The official Spokesman of PUK, Imad Ahmed said in a statement received by Shafaq News, said that the meeting comes to discuss the latest developments in Kurdistan Region and also reach solutions for the crises dominate the political scene. Ahmed said that the meeting to be held today, in the building of PUK in Erbil. The political scene in Kurdistan region is witnessing a deep crisis among the political parties which was divided into two fronts over presidency of the region , the draft of Kurdistan constitution and the form of the political system that must be followed in the region, first adopted by PUK , KDP , Change , the Islamic Union and the Islamic Group that sees a need for the system to be parliamentary, similar to what is implemented in Baghdad and elect the president of the region through parliament, the second which includes Kurdistan Democratic Party and some of the supporting parties demanding the election of the president of the region through direct ballot. In spite of the meetings held by political parties, but no agreement was reached despite the fact that the mandate of the president of the region will end in 10 days, prompting the region's president, Massoud Barzani to call for a quick agreement on Sunday or resort to early elections
