ISIS have launched two suicide attacks in Anbar province, killing 13 Iraqi army soldiers and allied Sunni tribesmen,*Fox News*reports, citing anonymous Iraqi military sources.
The attack was launched on an outpost near Ramadi and appears typical of ISIS’ efforts to hinder progress re-taking the city, which has been encircled by Sunni tribal and Iraqi army forces. These efforts have focused on waves of suicide bomb attacks on army staging areas, to delay an expected assault on the city.
Occasionally, Iraqi forces have been able to repel these assaults with US supplied anti-tank weapons, which can destroy suicide armoured vehicles.
To date, the city has been partially surrounded with some suburbs re-taken from the terrorists.
