Iraq Trade Policy Analysis Workshop

CLDP, in close coordination with the Office of Trade Negotiations and Analysis (OTNA), will hold a workshop in Washington, DC, on December 7-10, 2015 for eleven Iraqi officials from the Ministry of Trade to build capacity in Iraq’s Trade Policy Office (TPO).The workshop is held in response to a request for technical assistance from the Iraq Ministry of Trade, made in the context of the U.S.-Iraq Trade and Investment Framework Agreement bilateral talks held in March of 2014. The objective of the program is to build the capacity of the staff of the TPO so that, at a time when trade policy is critical for Iraq, Iraq’s policymakers can make decisions based upon thorough analysis and informed guidance by the TPO.
