Iraq Demands More Clarifications on Kuwaiti Mobarak Port

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Minister of State and Government Spokesman called upon Kuwait to submit more detailed information on Mobarak port, a statement reported.
In the statement, as received by Aswat al-Iraq, Ali al-Dabbagh said that the Iraqi Cabinet "discussed he question of building Kuwaiti Mobarak port and its impact on the maritime lines that reach Iraqi ports.
He added that the Cabinet heard the comments of the Iraqi delegation that visited Kuwait lately.
The Iraqi delegation comprised members from the foreign and transport ministries, in coordination with the United Nations.
"The Cabinet deemed it needs more additional information on the sea borders of the Kuwaiti port to have a clear idea of the expected and potential effects of the Kuwait maritime on Iraq", the statement added.
Kuwait announced, on 6 April last, the start in building Mobarak port, after one year of Iraqi declaration to build it Great Faw Sea Terminal.
