while confirming the existence of suspicions about the benefit of some parties and politicians from the absence of industries and goods in the country.

Al-Ali told "The Information", "The Iraqi industry before 2003, its activity was based on the performance of the Iraqi public sector, while the thousands of small workshops and factories did not constitute a great developmental importance," pointing out that
"the contribution of the industrial sector today is low and may reach 2- 3% of the gross domestic product.
He added, "The Iraqi public sector witnessed development during the seventies and eighties, but its deterioration began evident during the nineties due to economic sanctions," noting that
"the security and political conditions after 2003 did not enable governments to pay attention to the industrial sector."
The economic expert explained that "it is not logical to accuse politicians of targeting the Iraqi industry,
but there are suspicions about the benefit of some political parties and personalities from the absence of some industries and goods for reasons related to their control over the supply of some goods inside Iraq."
And Al-Ali indicated that “many reasons stand stumbling blocks to the development of the Iraqi industry, and
most of them fall within the responsibilities of the political decision-maker in creating investment conditions, legislation and other matters.” Ended / 25 R.
