Basra Oil: Investing in the gas produced within 4 years and we will reach the export market

Director of the Basra Oil Company, Bassem Abdul Karim, confirmed today, Friday, that the
Siba field is currently producing 60 million standard cubic feet.
Abdul Karim said in an interview with the National News Center,
“The Siba field is considered one of the most important interests in the southern region, and
it is a gas field that was invested within the third round of licensing.” He added,
"The field produces 60 million standard cubic feet, and
our ambition is to reach 100 million cubic feet," noting that
"we have reached the drilling of 12 wells, and the last three wells have had encouraging results." He pointed out that
“gas investment in the southern region during 2028 will be a complete investment for all the gas produced, and
we expect to reach the export market,” pointing out that
“the development plan is currently being discussed between the
Kuwaiti contractor, the
Chinese company,
Basra Oil, and with the Contracts and
Licensing Department in the Ministry of Oil.”
