A source high-level mediation of former House Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, as well as the President of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi to stop the arrest warrant against the latter.
The security source had said Buratha told yesterday that he was issued an arrest warrant against Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi on charges of bombing the House of Representatives.
The source told all of Iraq [where] that "al-Mashhadani, the Prime Minister visited yesterday to mediate to stop the arrest warrant also called al-Jaafari for the same purpose and asked to postpone the subject."
He added that "al-Hashemi said Mashhadani was not aware of confessions officers of his office and nothing to do with their intentions and their actions and the transfer of al-Mashhadani, the Prime Minister."
He noted that "al-Maliki agreed to defer the arrest warrant after he was commander of Baghdad operations implemented for only two days to prove the innocence of the works of al-Hashemi and his officers did Lennon and plan in the coming period." He said, "Hashemi said he is ready to provide proof and demonstration confirms that he not aware of the actions of those officers."
