MP: Sanctions on Iran will affect our economy

A member of the Economic Commission Abdul-Hussein Abtan said economic sanctions to be imposed by the United Nations on Iran will impact heavily on the Iraqi economy by increasing prices in local markets. He Abtan according to the Agency (news) said on Tuesday: The volume of trade exchange between Iran and Iraq is too large, especially on both sides of agriculture and industry, noting that Iran is a market first for Iraq to import agricultural products such as fruits and vegetables due to lack of local agricultural production, in addition to some products Industrial.
He Abtan to: the international economic sanctions if imposed on Iran will impact significantly on the Iraqi economy by increasing prices in local markets as a result of use by some Iraqi traders to import goods from other countries far from Iraq, saying: The difference of currency and distance of the road all affect the price of commodities and goods in the Iraqi market. Abtan been ruled out Iraqi goods at the moment to the danger as they pass through Iran and Syria as a result of the lack of a legal warning to the risk exposure of goods imported during the Iran and Syria.
The volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Syria during the year (2011) amounted to (5) billion dollars, while the volume of trade with Iran amounted to (10) billion dollars.
