Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and the U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raymond Odierno, the importance of cooperation between Iraq and the United States.
A statement by the Prime Minister received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of it today, Thursday, "Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki met in his office on the evening of the day Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raymond Odierno."
He added that "Maliki said during the meeting the importance of continued cooperation between Iraq and the United States to serve the interests of both countries."
The statement quoted Maliki's call to "accelerate the process of equipping the Iraqi forces with the necessary equipment and machinery necessary for its work."
For his part, Chief of Staff of the U.S. military statement said "his country's readiness to cooperate with Iraq in the field of training, equipping and arming of Iraqi forces."
The U.S. forces will withdraw completely from the country by the end of this month, according to the security agreement concluded by the government with the U.S. administration in 2008 and which provides for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from the country by the end of 2011. Finished.
