Iraq MPs reactions over Diyala provincial council attack

The attack on Diyala provincial council building recalls the incident of Salahuddin provincial council three months ago.
Certain lawmakers say that the delay in naming security ministers was the main cause that led to Salahuddin incident while others argue that the present tensed rows between political leaders led to the attack on Diyala provincial council.
Iraqiya MPs on the other hand rule out the influence of political rows on security deterioration in Iraq. They believe the non readiness of security forces and the imminent withdrawal of US Forces from Iraq are the cause for security violations.
Diyala MPs blamed the provincial council members for the attack criticizing them for having left the building after they heard about intelligence information reporting the attack.
Despite intelligence that warned of a plot against Diyala provincial council, the death toll of the incident cast doubts over the readiness of Iraqi security forces to take over security after the withdrawal of US Forces by the end of 2011.
