SULAIMANIYA / Aswat al-Iraq: The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), one of two parties ruling north Iraq's Kurdistan Region, together with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), has nominated Freidun Abdul-Qadir as Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, along with changing all Kurdistan's ministers, with exception one minister, a source close to PUK reported on Monday.
"PUK had met, under chairmanship of Jalal Talabani on Sunday night and nominated Freidun Abdul-Qadir for the post of the Region's Deputy Prime Minister, along with changing all cabinet ministers, representing PUK with the exception of the Minister of Martyrs & Anfal Victims," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Noteworthy is that the government of Kurdistan Region witnesses its changing once every two years, according to the strategic agreement, signed between PUK and the KDP.
