Waterford Township Police investigators are looking for a cache of Iraqi currency stolen from a home safe earlier this month.

Police were called to a home in the 3000 block of Heron Pointe at 8:33 a.m. Jan. 14 after the homeowner discovered a fire safe stolen from the home's master bedroom, according to a release issued early today by police. Inside was an undisclosed amount of both U.S. and Iraqi currency, called dinar," according to Waterford Police Sgt. Scott Good.

Anyone who has information or who has noticed someone with dinar is asked to call Waterford Township Police at 248-618-7515.
