Eqbal: Meeting of blocs’ leaders pushes political process after the inactivity stage

Baghdad (NINA) - MP for the Wasat coalition Mohammad Eqbal said "any meeting of the leaders of political blocs aims at pushing the political process, especially after the inactivity stage which happened in the past two weeks and the major escalation that took place between the two big slates."
Eqbal’s media office quoted him as saying, in a press statement, "any meeting may not be productive if it did not contain good intentions and a desire to end the conflict. Anything else would void the value of all meetings no matter how high their level was."
"Dr. Iyad Allawi’s declining to attend this meeting might be for he is uneager due to the many meetings during the past period which led to nothing due to the lack of real intention and willingness to actually solve the crisis," he added.
He expected that the meeting would be limited to the slates that took part the Erbil meeting to get Iraq out of the political crisis, so, there is some sort of political commitment to this meeting and make every effort to end this crisis and create a state of political rapprochement.
