The report attributed according to a statement Information Office of the Ministry of reasons for the high indicators of annual inflation to rising prices, rents round residential rate (12%) indicating that the index of consumer prices amounted to (137.5%) in the month of January 2012, recording an increase rate of 1.4% from the previous month and an average 5.4% compared with the month of January 2011.
The statement went on to say that the price of department of food and non-alcoholic beverages registered an increase during the month of January 2012 rate of 1.6% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the central region at 3.0% in the South a rate of 0.9% while prices have decreased in the Kurdistan region by 1.7% , the main reason for rising prices of this section at the level of Iraq, mainly due to the high prices of vegetables and fish. The prices of this section, up by 3.9% compared to prices in January 2011 ..
