ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: The Kurdistan Regional Government will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the UN's 56th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, according to the foreign relations official in the region.
"The KRG will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the UN's 56th session of the Commission on the Status of Women for the first time with the participation of more than 190 countries," Dindar Zebari told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The meeting will evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and women's empowerment worldwide," he added.
