Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Suzan al-Sa'ad, of Fadhila bloc within the Iraqi National Alliance assured that "The parliament is going to discuss the issue of the pensions for the members of the Local Councils during its Thursday session."
She stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "The members of the Local Councils scarificed a lot to serve their country," noting that "Amending a law could not be done through attaching it to the budget law."
She confirmed writing a new report over the provinces which witnessed corruption concerning this issue.
Some provinces witnessed demonstrations conducted by dozens of Local Councils' members, calling the parliament to reconsider its decision over canceling their salaries. /End/
