ERBIL, March 26 (AKnews) – The President of Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani is expected to make a several-day tour to the United States and a number of European countries.
The details of Barzani’s visit have not yet been disclosed yet but he is expected to meet US president Barack Obama early April in the White House.
“Barzani’s visit comes after he accepted an official invitation from US Vice President Joseph Biden made during his visit to Kurdistan last year,” an informed source, who requested anonymity, told AKnews.
Ahead of his trip, he is expected to meet with local Kurdish political forces on Tuesday in Pirmam town, north of Erbil, to discuss the agenda of his tour, they added.
The Presidential Office did not respond to calls for a comment.
