Kurdistan: we have no objection to the new "draft law of oil and gas

He said Farhad atroshi, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on petroleum and energy, Northern News (aknews) announced today that the "draft revised and new oil and gas did not come to the House so far.". Adding "but according to our information not llkerd any objection, but on the contrary, we agree and approve the revised version".
He noted that "even if some changes and amendments, the requirement not to touch the substance of the law and the basic concepts that are installed in the 2007 draft, we will wait for the Cabinet to send the revised draft to the House of representatives, and shall provide to the Presidency of Parliament to be read and agree with it.". However, by saying "the new draft did not arrive, we will give the old draft, by which I mean the latest draft received by the Council of Ministers in 2007 as I recall."
The statement was issued, on Saturday, the Office of Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussain Shahristani, stating that Iraq enter some amendments to the draft law on the long-awaited oil and Energy Committee was by the Council of Ministers.
Llshahrstani information Office said in a statement that "the Committee chairmanship meeting discussed Shahristani Thursday amended version of the oil and gas bill is transmitted to the Ministry of oil.". Stating that "the Committee decided to consider the draft and raise the family at the next meeting to be held next week."
On the possibility of considering the draft law of oil and gas will pass under the consent of the Al-Kurd, atroshi said "I don't know exactly, but according to my information, the first interceptor, which is usually obstructed this law is the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Dr. Hussain Shahristani, who was a former oil Minister post.". He said "Shahristani is more people objected to this law and trying to make changes accordingly as he wants."
He warned atroshi means as "deceitful." Stating that "the previous version of project that occurred around differences, and when the discussion in the Council of Ministers sent it to the State Council for linguistic correction, but the Council of State has changes in content and substance. ". "This action is illogical and unacceptable, because their work should be a purely linguistic and away from any changes in the substance of the law."
Cabinet approved the draft hydrocarbon law in 2007 but encountered opposition Kurds, observers see as differences between Erbil and Baghdad on oil revenue-sharing and control over some of the fields in northern Iraq and Kurdistan.
The law will determine which party controls huge oil reserves and is the fourth largest reserves in the world also aims to attract foreign investors.
Iraq set a goal of increasing production capacity to 12 million barrels per day by 2017 from about 2.7 million barrels a day.
