BAGHDAD, June 2 (AKnews) - The National Alliance (NA) said today that it has agreed to unite its position on the current political crisis by resorting to national dialogue.
The NA held late last night a meeting to discuss finding solutions for the current political crisis amid the demand of the political parties to withdraw confidence from the government.
Leader in the coalition Khalid al-Asadi said: "There's a remarkable tense political situation and the NA, as the biggest bloc in the government, needs to consider its options in light of the interests of its voters. The Sadrists attended yesterday's meeting."
The confirmation of the NA to unite its political position came a day after cleric Moqtada al-Sadr proposed holding a popular referendum about the withdrawal of confidence from the government with the participation of all parties.
Iraqiya List announced about collecting the signatures of more than 164 votes to withdraw confidence from the government. The signature will be submitted later to President Jalal Talabani.
