Kurdish delegation traveling to Iraq today
A delegation led by Ahmet Türk, the co-chairman of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) -- a group affiliated with the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) -- is traveling to Iraq today to meet with the Kurdish administration.
The delegation comprising Kurdish politicians such as Şerafettin Elçi, Bayram Bozyel and Hamit Geylani will travel to northern Iraq in line with a decision made at the DTK's extraordinary meeting.
“The delegation, representing all the Kurds in Turkey, will head to the region to meet with Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani and officials from Kurdish political parties there. Issues such as the latest situation in the region, the solution of the Kurdish problem and organization of a Kurdish conference will be discussed during the meetings. Iraqi Kurdistan has its own experiences. We will benefit from their experience. We will exchange views about a solution to the Kurdish problem without touching on the state and the country's borders,” DTK spokesman Cemal Coşkun said.
He also noted that another group of Kurds will have meetings with representatives from NGOs, media organizations and vocational organizations in Ankara and İstanbul. (Iraq ~ Transforming NGO Microfinance Institutions to Non Bank Financial Institutions)
