BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Sadrist spokesman Salah al-Obaidi regarded U.S.
Defence Secretary Leon Panetta as having been "sarcastic towards the Iraqi political and military leaderships."
"We feel astonished that there were not sufficient responses to these remarks," the Sadrist Political Authority site reported Obaidi as saying.
He called upon all entities to "denounce these statements on all levels."

Secretary Panetta said in a statement issued by Al-Sharq Al-Awsat daily yesterday that "American forces will conduct unilateral military operations against the Shiite groups that attack them."
