Baghdad (NINA) – Vice-President Tariq Al Hashimi stressed that the corner stone for the national accordance lies in implementing Erbil agreement.
A statement issued by Hashimi’s office said that the VP visited Amar Al Hakeem, head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, and that both sides held an honest debate reviewing the general status of the country and the hurdles impeding the political process as well as activating the political agreements.
In a press statement after the meeting, Hashimi said that the problems facing the political process can be solved in case there were honest desires, expressing hope that a good solution could put on the fringes of a new era of joint work and end the political dispute.
As for the political leaders meeting, Hashimi stressed that the Iraqi people was waiting for decisions, not forming committees that postpone the problems to later time.
