U.S. pledges to help Iraq in provincial elections

Washington praised the efforts of Baghdad in order to resolve issues related to Chapter VII

The United States pledged U.S. help Iraq in the process of provincial elections to be held early next year, while stressing that it is committed to finding a solution to the issue of Chapter VII, octagonal Iraqi efforts to provide shelter and services for the Syrians who have taken refuge in Iraq.
And confirmed the U.S. embassy in Baghdad said in a statement that "the Governments of the Republic of Iraq and the United States discussed the renewed their strategic relationship during a meeting of the Joint Commission for the political and diplomatic coordination on the second of September 2012 in Baghdad."
He added that "this meeting, which was held at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, was attended by Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, and Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Elizabeth Jones During the meeting discussed international efforts to deal with the current crisis in Syria, and possible areas of cooperation, particularly in humanitarian issues and technical advice for the security of the border. "
And it was agreed that "both sides fully committed a political transition led by Syria toward a pluralistic political system represents the will of the Syrian people, and the United States noted the efforts of Iraq to provide shelter and services for the Syrians who have taken refuge in Iraq."
The statement continued, "The United States praised the efforts of Iraq to resolve issues related to Chapter VII on his relationship with Kuwait under UN Security Council Resolution of the United Nations No. 833, and United States is committed to working with both Iraq and Kuwait to resolve the issues Chapter VII remaining."
He explained that "the two sides discussed Iraq's plans to conduct its elections following at the national level and in the provinces scheduled for 2013 and 2014, and the United States pledged to help in the implementation of this important next step in the development of democracy in Iraq."
The statement continued, "also discussed the United States and Iraq continuing process of resettlement Archive and documents that are part of the custody of the Iraqi people," noting that "the United States praised the decision of Iraq last signed the Additional Protocol to the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency."
The statement noted that "the United States and Iraq agreed to discuss alternatives for the expanded consultation between the State Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, which could include joint training, and professional exchange programs, and more political discussions for planning."
