Concluded the Ministry of Communications memorandum of understanding with a company to implement the SEA third, while seeking to obtain security clearances necessary to direct this project. Said Undersecretary Amir Khadr al-Bayati Monday: The ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with a company to implement the SEA third noting »that the ministry addressed the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers so after guidance from them on the importance of obtaining approvals to implement those security sensitive projects. He explained: that the ministry is still in the process of getting those approvals to instruct the company to proceed with the work. Bayati said earlier that Iraq will be linked to all the countries of the world through submarine cables, adding that Iraq possesses two marine cables, where the first cable linking all neighboring countries with Iraq, Turkey and Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran so that has now become an integrated network. He added: that the linkage was completed in the SEA (JBI) and remained only activate and pass services from the ground station in FAO, and thus Iraq is linked to all the nations of the world through submarine cables, which is characterized by very high capacities.
