MoO to conclude international agreements in importing natural gas

Baghdad (AIN) –The Council of Ministers announced authorizing the Minister of Oil to sign the gas pipeline project which will transport gas from Iran to Iraq, Syria and Europe.
The Cabinet reported in statement received by AIN on Thursday ''The Council of Ministers decided during its regular session, on last Tuesday, to authorize the Minister of Oil to sign the framework of the agreement, between the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum in addition to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Syria, regarding the pipeline that transports gas through (Iran-Iraq-Syria-Europe).''
According to an official source in the Cabinet ''The Iraqi government is seeking to establish international relations in energy sector to promote the gas industrias field by providing the natural gas to meet the local needs and also to provide job opportunities since the agreement stipulates that workers of the project should be exclusively Iraqis.''
