BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A number of Iraqi helicopters were seen flying over the areas, where hundreds of thousands of demonstrators, belonging to the Shiite al-Sadr Movement, took to the streets of east Baghdad’s al-Sadr city, chanting anti-American slogans and calling for U.S.
troops withdrawal from Iraq by the end of the current year.
Aswat al-Iraq news agency correspondent, covering the demonstration, also said that he saw large numbers of Iraqi Army and security forces, spread all over al-Sadr city, closing all the roads leading to the city, to watch the demonstration that began at 08:00 am local time (05:00 GMT).
