BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi said that the difference between al-Iraqiya and the State of Law is a philosophical difference, centered around the administration of the state.
It is not personal differences, a statement issued by his office today.
The statement, as received by Aswat al-Iraq, added that "there are some people who want to abort the Arbil agreement.
The agreement itself was a historical gain."
"The implementation of the Arbil agreement will the move Iraqi status to a better standard in regard political, legal, legislative, administrative and financial spheres," the statement added.
Hashimi urged Kurdish president Masoud Barzani to follow-up the agreement to ensure better implementation.
The differences between al-Iraqiya, headed by Iyad Allawi, and the State of Law, headed by premier Nouri al-Maliki, encompass the implementation of the Arbil agreement's terms, particularly the Higher National Strategic Policies Council and the mechanism on how to choose its president.
On 16 September last, Barzani initiated an agreement to solve all pending problems among Iraqi political blocs and the formation of the national partnership government.
