MP of State of Law predicts to return to the old election law
BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the State of Law coalition, Khalid al-Asadi predicted to return to the old election law because of lack of consensus on the new draft.
He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / " The atmosphere among the political blocs, on the elections Law, refers to the failure to reach a consensus on it so far because of the insistence of some blocs on their demands to be included in the law."
Asadi added that "setting a deadline to adopt the law will not be a powerful incentive for political blocs to approve it, but returning to the old law is most likely under these conditions."
The House of Representatives chose 30, April 2014, as the date for the elections of the House of Representatives. And 30, Oct as the deadline to agree on amending the election law or return to the 2005 law. / End
