A Kurdish newspaper revealed the existence of what it called the race between the leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) for the post of Secretary-General of the party, succeeding President Jalal Talabani is suffering from illness and interrupted him 10 months ago.
According to the {ئاوينه} in the email that "President Talabani is now the racetrack between leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The party expanded meeting held on the 10th of this month to make central figures vying to make recommendations and decisions of the fourth Congress of the party, scheduled for late January.
The paper said that the leadership of Iraq is the biggest crisis in the party, and is likely to lead the Conference, put the issue to split party ranks, there is still a strong current in the Party felt that there should not be a Secretary of the party after Talabani, must find another label to the top official in the party.
