Korean Deal to Build Healthcare Info System

Posted on 03 January 2014

Korea’s BIT Computer has said it will build a healthcare information system for the Health Ministry and public health centers in Iraq.

The 24-month $260,000 project also includes creating data communications links between the ministry and health centers.

The company will work with the Korea International Cooperation Agency as part of an overseas development assistance project.

The Iraqi Health Ministry expects that it will be able to improve the quality of its healthcare service delivery substantially while raising the reliability of medical statistics.

BIT Computer president Jeon Jin-ok said:

“Following similar deals in Asia in 2013, we are proud that we could step into the Iraqi market for the first time.“

As the project will be implemented as part of a foreign assistance program, it will involve dispatching medical professionals and sending Iraqi healthcare workers to Korea for training purposes.
