The British Standard Chartered Bank plans to open its first branch in Kurdistan region early next month to benefit from the huge government projects financing opportunities for planned infrastructure in the semi-autonomous region.
And the World Bank within a few foreign banks with operations in Iraq which witnessed fast economic growth supported by oil.
Standard Chartered opened its main office and the first in Iraq in November in a neighborhood bank in Baghdad.
The Bank also plans to open another branch in Basra in the South of the country later this year.
Gavin informed the Chairman of Standard Chartered Iraq Wishart told Reuters that business environment in Kurdistan, described the improved pace of development in the region as "encouraging".
Security concerns prevented the complexities of regulatory and political climate some international companies from working in Iraq. And HSBC tries NBC out of Iraq to sell its stake in Dar es Salaam Investment Bank
