Baghdad (NINA) – *****Iraqiya Slate Advisor, Hani Ashur, confirmed that his slate “has not, yet, got acquainted with the details of the agreement between Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, and the US admin about the extension for the US troops stay in Iraq after 2011.”*****
In a statement issued by his office, Ashur said “the statements given by the US Secretary of Defense about Iraq’s approval on the American troops stay after 2011, and the statements of Maliki’s media advisor, Ali Al Musawi, in which he denied that; put the political blocs in a puzzle because Maliki did not inform the political blocs of any details of the agreement and the actual number of the US troops staying in Iraq. Maliki was supposed to inform the blocs’ leaders about any agreement in this regard.”
He added *****“the IS asked two days ago, through its leader, Dr. Iyad Allawi, for a meeting of the political blocs’ leaders *****to discuss the developments on the last meeting of the political leaders’ meeting which took place upon Talabani’s initiative, *****especially regarding the assignment of MOD and MOI, and the violation of what was agreed on by assigning an acting MOD without asking the blocs’ approval.”*****
US secretary of Defense Leon Baneta said two days ago that a progress was achieved in the talks with Baghdad regarding the stay of the US troops after 2011.
