Deputy Prime Minster meets with U.N representative in Iraq

BAGHDAD / NINA / Deputy Prime Minister, Rose Nuri Shaways discussed with the representative of the Secretary -General of the United Nations, Nikolay Mladenov parliamentary elections held in April 30 and the counting process and the consequences of them on the situation in the country.
A statement Shaways office cited today : "The two sides also discussed, during the meeting, political and security situation in the country and conditions of the population in those areas and the negative effects resulting from the floods that hit the area west of the capital Baghdad .
The statement added : "The two sides stressed the role of the UN in assistance and coordination in this area , as well as its role in improving the conditions of displaced people and refugees from areas of military tension .
