Advisor to the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs, Qasim Al-Zalimi, confirmed on Friday that empowering youth creates a new, conscious generation of leaders.
 
Al-Zalmi said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that
 
“empowering youth creates a new, conscious generation of leaders capable of achieving a qualitative leap,” pointing out that
 
“youth are the building block of development transformation because they are the most generous and influential in society.” He added,
 
"Young people are the link between the present and the future, which is full of transformations towards broad horizons," stressing that
 
"interest in the youth group leads to charting a future that keeps pace with modernity and creates a generation distinguished by its ability to overcome difficulties."
 
The Council of Ministers had decided in its thirty-third regular session held on August 15, 2023, the following:
 
1- Composition of the Supreme Council, headed by the Prime Minister and membership of each of the Ministers (Youth and Sports as Vice President, Finance, Education, Labor, Social Affairs and Culture, Higher Education and Scientific Research) and the Prime Minister for Youth Affairs.
 
2- The Prime Minister’s Office created an electronic platform for all youth ideas and proposals to form a basic database called (Youth Ideas Bank Window) managed by specialists in the field of information technology and supervised by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Youth Affairs.
 
3. The Supreme Authority for Coordination between the Governorates studied the amendment to Law 21 of 2008 regarding the re-association (administrative and technical) of the Youth and Sports Directorates with the Ministry of Youth.
 
4. Obligating the governorates to allocate no less than (5%) of the governorate’s budget to the youth and sports sector, to be collected from border crossing revenues, petrodollar imports, or any other revenues.
 
5- The Ministry of Youth and Sports undertakes a semi-annual evaluation of the performance of directors of youth and sports directorates in the governorates, and submits its recommendations to the Supreme Council for Youth to take the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding the results of the evaluation.
 
6. Ministries, agencies not affiliated with a ministry, and governorates give priority to youth in nominating holders of positions (advisory, administrative, technical,...) related to youth affairs in accordance with the law and applicable regulations.
 
7. The competent committees in the governorates take what is necessary to remove violations against youth homes and forums and take legal measures against the violators and rehabilitate them.
 
It is noteworthy that the Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Youth announced the approval for all governorates to launch a campaign to rehabilitate youth facilities, in order to open the way for youth organizations and teams to establish their activities and initiatives to serve the youth and under the supervision of the Supreme Council, based on Paragraph 4 of Council of Ministers Resolution (23465).) for the year (2023).).
