Iran to link its railways to Iraq’s
On Wednesday, the official Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Naubakht announced that Iran has decided to facilitate the process of transporting pilgrims visiting shrines and holy sites in Iraq by linking its railway with Iraq’s.
News agency IRNA quoted Naubakht, during a press conference after a meeting of the community council of ministers, as saying, “In accordance with the decision made by the Iranian authorities, we will take the necessary measures to facilitate the travel of Iranian pilgrims to Iraq.”
Naubakht added , “Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and the Management and Planning Organization were appointed by the government to implement the project,” adding that, “This will pave the way for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport.”
