Dy FM: Iran exports 20,000 tons of oil and sugar to Iraq monthly

Tehran, Feb 2, IRNA – Managing Director of Iran State Commercial Company said on Monday that Iran exports 20,000 tons of cooking oil and processed sugar to Iraq monthly.
Ali Qanbari, who is also Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad told IRNA that the Iranian and Iraqi delegations held successful meetings to regulate export of basic goods to Iraq. Referring to his 3-day visit to Iraq and the negotiations held with senior officials of Iraq Commerce Ministry, Qanbari said that senior Iraqi Commerce officials acknowledged the Iraqi government's interest to import Iranian goods, especially food products and construction materials. Qanbari said that in the negotiations held with Iraqi delegation under leadership of Deputy Commerce Minister Walid al-Mousavi, the Iranian officials agreed to export 10,000 tons cooking oil and 10,000 tons processed sugar to Iraq. Upon the agreement, prices for Iranian goods to Iraq would be floating and for each 10,000 tons of the food supplies the global market price will govern the deal. Qanbari added that primary negotiations to export milk powder and wheat flour to Iraq were held and the next round of talks will be held in Tehran.
