Iraq and Iran signed an agreement to protect and control the borders between the two countries

Erbil / Nina / Border Guards Commander Maj. Gen. Abdul-Karim Mustafa signed with his Iranian counterpart, Maj. Gen. Qassim Rezai an agreement to protect and control the borders between the two sides.
Maj. Gen. Mustafa told a news conference after the signing of the agreement today that the meetings with the Iranian side aimed to control the borders between the two countries and to address the problems that may arise, particularly with respect to sheep grazers , and fishermen in Basra.”
“The agreement includes confronting terrorism which targets the two countries and raise coordination level in this aspect , adding that the border guards will follow up all the agreed points and providing them with Iraqi territory and prevent the use of any place to hit Iranian territory, as well as the case for Iran.
For his part, the Iranian Commander of Border Guards said that this agreement is important for both sides for the long common border between the two countries,” and expressed his happiness to the level of security on the Iraqi-Iranian borders.
