Kurdistan Parliament welcomes the draft US decision to arm the Kurds and Sunnis

Security Committee in Kurdistan Parliament welcomed the draft resolution proposed to the US Congress included arming the Kurds and Sunnis, viewing it as a very important step, as he emphasized that arming the region contributes to strengthening peace and security in Iraq and the region.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee Nazim Harki in a press statement followed tow Radio on Thursday that "the US Congress a draft decision of arming the Peshmerga forces step is very important," noting that "strengthen the role of the Peshmerga step in the fight against terrorism."
He added that "the Peshmerga regular force and seriously committed to international humanitarian standards," explaining that "arming the Peshmerga are in the whole of Iraq the benefit of the fact that this force is fighting a war with the Iraqi forces, a common enemy."
Harki He pointed out that "arming the Kurdistan region does not constitute a danger to others as a democratic system," adding that "arming the Kurdistan will contribute to strengthening the role of the region in the maintenance of peace and security in the region."
The Iraqi government announced on Wednesday its rejection of the proposed bill in the US Congress on dealing with the Kurds and Sunnis in Iraq as a "two states", and considered as it would lead to further divisions in the region, called for him not to go.
