Shafaq News / Kurdish Change bloc in the Iraqi parliament called on Monday, Prime Minister , Haider al-Abadi to reconsider his manner of dealing with the outstanding issues between
Baghdad and Erbil, noting that some within the National Alliance don’t want rapprochement between the two sides and exert pressure on the prime minister.
The Head of the bloc , Hoshyar Abdullah said in a statement quoted by his media Office Word for Shafaq News, that the Kurds are aware of the size of the pressures faced by Abadi’s government regarding security, economic and political levels, in addition to the pressures within the political process, especially from within the National Alliance and wrong orientations by some parties that don’t want rapprochement between Abadi’s Government and Kurdistan Regional Government.
Abdullah, admonished the head of the government for not reading the privacy of Kurdistan Region’s history, noting that the Kurdish people who fought for the freedom of Iraq over the past decades gave sacrifices to freedom but today suffer from being deprived of their dues despite democratic change that took place in 2003.
He added that it is not reasonable for Abadi to deal with Kurdistan, which is home to the more than two million displaced people from various Iraqi factions as deals with any other province that does not have but relatively few numbers of displaced families, as well as their sense of security and providing services to them despite the bad economic conditions in the region.
He pointed out that all the difficult conditions experienced by the region today, combined with the continuation war against "ISIS" terrorists without receiving any assistance regarding the arming and training for its troops.
He said all these equations make Kurds feel that Abadi’s policy towards Kurdistan is incorrect, confirming on him to have a sense of responsibility towards the region as a part of Iraq.
Abdullah called on the prime minister to take the initiative to exchange entitlements of the region according to 2015 budget, and re-read Kurdistan Regional equation accurately.
It is noted that despite the agreement reached between Baghdad and Erbil on oil export from Kurdistan and Kirkuk during the formation of Abadi’s government, but the two sides are pointing from time to time of both lack of commitment by both sides on that agreement, Baghdad has said that Erbil has not made the agreed amount of oil and therefore they do not send its share of the general budget, while Erbil denies this and asserts that Baghdad is not committing to send its share, although the rate of the exporting oil from fields of the region and fields of Kirkuk approached 550 000 barrels per day.
