Forgery gang arrested in Basra province

Basra/ Iraq TradeLink: Security forces reported here the arrest of five-member gang to forge US currency.
The sources confirmed the seizure of 150.000 dollars of forged $100-banknotes.
The arrest was conducted upon "accurate intelligence information".
The sources added that the gang had 30 million dollars of forged US currency, which were brought from Baghdad to be exchanged into Iraqi dinar in Basra province.
During the past years, the security forces captured many gangs specialized in forging currencies and governmental documents and seals, three were captured in Baghdad, Basra and Missan.
